So I did learn how it works! Though it depends on the 4 lb bags versus the 22 lb bags. Basically both (in different ways) print the WEEK and YEAR it was manufactured. At the store, we give 6 months, but I imagine for a family you can push it to a year or two. It goes bad slowly... but eventually!

Damn we likely threw some away that didn't need to ;w; I wish there was a better way to keep track, we use it quite a bit.
