Granular advertising preference controls for lifecycle/demographic categories

Users receive unsolicited marketing emails and ads for products tied to life stages (baby products, parenting items, holiday-specific content) based on inferred demographics. There is a need for a simple, reliable way to toggle off entire categories of promotional content, including life-stage-based marketing, without receiving repeated unwanted messages in those categories.

Idk it seems to think I'm a mother? ...wait, is it bc my phone can hear me call myself "mommy" when I'm talking to my CAT???

That would explain a lot 😅 Honestly though, sometimes they just spam you with it if you're in prime "baby making years". I wish there was a button to tick that stopped that shit, but seeing as they can't even get "don't send me mothers/fathers day stuff" right, I'm guessing that's a fantasy 😔

CLASSIFIER RATIONALE

The post expresses genuine frustration with unwanted marketing communications (baby/parenting product ads) and requests a feature to control preference categories. Combined with parent context, this is a clear expression of unmet demand for better advertising preference controls. The author acknowledges the barrier (existing platform's poor implementation) but the core need—a way to opt out of category-based marketing—is legitimate and actionable.
