In-depth development history content for classic video games

Books, videos, or documentary content that covers the technical development history, creation process, and behind-the-scenes details of classic video games—rather than surface-level retrospectives or reviews. Content should include information about developer decisions, technical choices, tools used, and the actual development journey.

I keep clicking on video game retrospective videos thinking I'll learn something new about the development of a beloved classic but no, it's just some guy describing a game they played once I desire something greater. Tell me what coffee the devs drank. I wanna know if they used tabs or spaces

I cannot stand videos that look like they'd go into the technical history of a piece of art only to summarize and maybe review it. I wish there were books or videos on the development history of classic games, but it really feels like there's nothing.

CLASSIFIER RATIONALE

Clear expression of unmet demand for in-depth development history content about classic video games. Parent post establishes the desire for detailed technical and behind-the-scenes information about game creation; reply reinforces that existing content (retrospectives, reviews) fails to meet this need and confirms genuine interest in the category.
