Pre-penalty warning system for game abandonment

A warning or notification system that alerts players before issuing a ban or penalty for leaving a match, giving them a chance to reconsider or explain their absence. This would apply to competitive or ranked game modes where match abandonment is penalized.

So, I’ve been hit with a small 15-minute ban on Deadlock as I needed to go out and do something. I left when the match was loading and not in the middle. I’m not upset as it was on me. But I wish there was some sort of warning system before bans are issued. I don’t leave matches at all.

CLASSIFIER RATIONALE

The post expresses a genuine product feature gap: a warning system before penalties are applied in competitive games. The author acknowledges responsibility but identifies a missing safeguard that would help prevent accidental bans. This is a reasonable feature request for game design, not venting or sarcasm.
