Streaming service for archived historical media

A service that streams classic and historical films, television, and other media (especially content 50+ years old) that is currently difficult to find, out of print, or locked behind paywalls. The service would make older media easily discoverable and accessible in one place.

A very controversial take…I feel that any piece of media (especially television and film) that’s at least 50+ years old should be automatically archived, easily available for free and not to be behind a paywall or taken down by companies… Why it hard to find films that were released in the 1940s??

I would pay for a Library of Congress streaming service.

CLASSIFIER RATIONALE

The reply combines a parent post expressing unmet demand (accessible archival of older media) with an explicit willingness-to-pay signal ('I would pay for'). This is a genuine expression of demand for a streaming service focused on historical media content.
