Physical e-waste refurbishment and redistribution centers

A need for more physical locations where used but still-functional electronics (computers, peripherals, etc.) can be dropped off, refurbished if needed, and made available to the public at low cost or free, reducing e-waste and extending product lifespans.

I love places like these. As someone who lives in Texas, I was distraught realizing I missed a place like Computer Reset. If I ever go to Portland, I will need to stop by Free Geek to fill up a box of goodies to ship home.

I wish there were more places like Free Geek in the world. There's so much stuff thrown away as eWaste that is perfectly usable but a few years old.

CLASSIFIER RATIONALE

The post expresses genuine unmet demand for a category of service: physical locations that accept, refurbish, and redistribute used electronics to prevent e-waste. The author wishes these places were more common, implying they perceive a gap in availability. Combined with the parent post's enthusiasm about such venues, this reflects a real problem (e-waste + lack of accessible refurbishment/redistribution infrastructure) that others would recognize.
